Sandringham House ELC Achieves Exceeding in All Seven Quality Areas

Firbank’s Sandringham House Early Learning Centre (ELC) has proudly been awarded an Exceeding rating across all seven Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard (NQS) – an exceptional achievement that reflects our commitment to providing outstanding education and care.

Guided by the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and underpinned by the National Quality Framework, our ELC nurtures curious, confident and compassionate learners. This recognition acknowledges that excellence is embedded in every aspect of our practice, from teaching and learning to relationships, wellbeing and leadership.

What Does ‘Exceeding’ Mean?

An Exceeding NQS rating is awarded to services by the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority where exceptional practice is consistently embedded across the service, informed by ongoing critical reflection and strengthened through authentic partnerships with families and the community.

Across all seven Quality Areas – educational program and practice; children’s health and safety; physical environment; staffing arrangements; relationships with children; collaborative partnerships with families and communities; and governance and leadership – Sandringham House’s ELC demonstrated its commitment to excellence. Our inquiry-based curriculum empowers children to ask questions, think critically and take ownership of their learning. Educators create safe, nurturing environments where wellbeing, resilience and belonging are prioritised, ensuring every child feels known, valued and supported.

With Thanks and Gratitude

This remarkable achievement reflects the collective dedication of an extraordinary team whose passion and professionalism are evident in every aspect of our ELC.

While we proudly celebrate this significant milestone, we know that excellence is never a destination. It is a mindset of continuous reflection, curiosity and growth. As an IB World School, we remain committed to inspiring children to become lifelong learners who demonstrate agency, act with compassion, embrace diversity and make meaningful contributions to their communities – both now and into the future.

This achievement belongs to every member of our ELC community, and we look forward to continuing this journey of excellence together.
