Firbank consider Experiential Education a vital developmental program due to the profound impact the hands-on, real-life learning experiences have on students. By providing students with opportunities to develop important life skills, apply their academic knowledge outside of the classroom and gain a deeper appreciation for the world around them, there is significant improvements in wellbeing and personal growth.

Firbank are one of Australia’s leaders in Experiential Education, winning Best Co-Curricular Program at the 2022 Australian Education Awards. Our multi-year program that takes students from Uluru to the heights of Mount Kosciuszko and beyond. Commencing in Year 7 with the Discovery Surf Program, students go on to complete the Earth Program in Year 8, the Desert Program in Year 9, the Broadening Horizons Program in Year 10 and the Summit to Sea expedition in Year 11.

Throughout these programs, students gain lifelong friendships and take crucial steps toward becoming well-rounded, confident and responsible young adults. They are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, challenge themselves and build resilience. Students leave Firbank Grammar School with the critical skills they need to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
