Netball Club

Firbank Netball Club aims to provide a positive and inclusive environment for all players to participate in the game of netball. The grading process is a way to ensure every player is given the opportunity to play netball to the best of their abilities in an encouraging and supportive environment.

We aim to create teams that consist of players of similar standard and skills, are competitive within the SDNA competition on game day and enables all players and teams to continue their skill development.

Firbank Netball Club teams train once a week, either before or after school. Year 7 FNC teams train on Tuesday afternoons/ evenings. The teams represent the Firbank Netball Club in the Sandringham and District Netball Association (SDNA) competition with games played on Saturdays. Game times vary from mid-morning to mid-afternoon depending on the draw and division. The season runs from late February to mid-September.

Rowing

Firbank has a highly successful rowing program. Established in 1992, the program has produced several rowers who have successfully competed at a national and international level. Olympic gold medalist James Tomkins provides consulting advice for the program.

Year 8 students can experience on land and on water rowing prior before committing to the program for the season.

The program runs from the end of Year 8 to Year 12. It includes dedicated rowing camps where students focus on improving technique, strength and fitness, and building successful teams ahead of the rowing season commencing.

Throughout the season students undertake extensive on land and on water training. Regattas are held in Geelong, Nagambie, Ballarat, and the Yarra River, and culminate in the Head of Schoolgirls in March each year.

Tennis

The tennis program at Firbank offers students the opportunity to experience all aspects of the game including technical and tactical development in conjunction with social and competitive play. Having this exposure at a junior level, equips them with the skills to enjoy and play the game for a lifetime.
