Following a highly competitive leadership selection process, we are delighted to announce Casey Chen and Emily Harris as Firbank’s School Co-Captains for 2027.

Both students exemplify the values of our school through their commitment to academic excellence, service, leadership, and community involvement. We look forward to working alongside Casey and Emily as they lead the Senior School in 2027 alongside the Year 12 student leaders and the Year 12 cohort.

Casey Chen – Having been part of the Firbank community since ELC, Casey has embraced every opportunity to contribute to school life. Casey believes student leaders play an important role in acting as a bridge between students and teachers while representing the voice of the school community. Drawing on her ability to speak multiple languages, she hopes to help build a more unified and connected school environment. Inspired by past leaders whose kindness ensured every student felt valued, Casey is committed to being an approachable and supportive role model for younger students. As she wrote in her application,

“I want to continue to be someone they can turn to for guidance, while advocating for the interests all of students, especially those who may not feel comfortable sharing their own thoughts.”

Emily Harris – For Emily, the opportunity to serve as School Co-Captain represents the culmination of more than a decade at Firbank. Inspired by the leaders who have gone before her and shaped her own experience of the School, she hopes to lead with the same curiosity and passion. As Emily reflected in her application,

“the ultimate honour of being a Firbank student would be to have the privilege of leading my peers as School Co-Captain.”

She is deeply grateful for the experiences and opportunities Firbank has provided and looks forward to serving as a devoted representative of the student body, while giving back to the community she loves.

We congratulate Casey and Emily on their appointments and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our community as School Co-Captains in 2027.
