Performing Arts at Firbank gives students a place to find their voice, collaborate with others and build confidence through creative practice and performance. Through music, drama and dance, students develop technique and artistry while also strengthening communication, empathy, discipline and the courage to step onto a stage.

Students also benefit from performance experiences that connect them beyond the classroom, including musical productions and opportunities created through our partnership with Brighton Grammar School.
As well as our own productions, a Junior School and Senior School production is held each year, with Brighton Grammar School and Firbank hosting every other year.
Dance
Renowned for our dance program
Firbank is renown for our Dance program. Students have the opportunity to participate in our Intermediate and Senior dance troupes, which rehearse weekly and compete in state and national competitions.
Our student-led annual Dance Lab attracts more than 200 students, including students from our brother school, Brighton Grammar.
In 2026, Firbank and Brighton Grammar launched the inaugural Tap Troupe.
Drama
An outstanding drama program
Firbank has an outstanding drama program that includes Theatresports Troupe, which trains weekly and participates in regional and state competitions; Drama Lab, a student-led initiative held annually; as well as bi-annual VCE Theatre Studies productions.
