Appointment of new Firbank Grammar School Principal
We are delighted to announce that following an extensive search for Firbank’s 10th Principal the School Board has appointed Ms Jenny Williams to the role effective from Term 3 this year.
Jenny has pursued a career in education, inspired by her own love of learning and her passion to empower young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in our increasingly complex world.
She has been a school Principal in Australia, New Zealand and Asia for the last 16 years and brings to Firbank a wealth of experience. She is currently the Principal at Samuel Marsden Collegiate School in Wellington, a position she has held since 2008. During this time, she worked tirelessly to maintain and improve the school’s academic results and create a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Prior to this, Jenny held the position of Principal at All Saints College, Bathurst and Principal at Snowy Mountains Grammar School. She was also the Head of Science at St Catherine’s School, Sydney and a founding staff member of the Australian International School in Singapore.
Jenny is passionate about academic excellence, student and staff Wellbeing and constantly challenges the status quo with the philosophy that “we can always do better”. She believes in working together with parents, teachers and the wider school community to allow students to realise their potential to become extraordinary people. Jenny is committed to fostering strong relationships with students, members of staff and the wider community.
In the interim, Ms Jo Field will continue in the role of Acting Principal and we thank her for her continued contribution.
We congratulate Jenny on her appointment and believe that her values, vision and passion will ensure that Firbank continues to build on its reputation as one of Australia’s leading schools.
