Latest from Year 3
The Year 3 students had a fantastic three days away at camp. This year they went to Narmbool Environmental Discovery Camp and Sovereign Hill. The Narmbool component of camp consisted of lots of engaging activities based around being sustainable and appreciative of our environment. The students participated in: Aquatic sampling, whereby students walked down to the dam and took samples of the water. They then went back to the lab and found lots of invertebrates in their sample, looked at them closely, classified them and presented one to the whole group using a microscope hooked up to a TV. They also took part in a critter hunt and everyone in the group had a different role such as a photographer, navigator (with a compass) leader and reader. One day was spent at Sovereign Hill doing lots of different things such as the education session, panning for gold and the Red Hill Mine Tour. Overall, it was a fantastic camp and the students had a wonderful time.
