This term we have continued to focus on implementing ‘Talk for Writing’. The students have completed their own ‘Supertato’ stories which they proudly shared with their parents at the Student Led Conferences. The students were able to show and articulate to their parents the process that they went through to write their stories. These stories were wonderfully written! They used an array of tools from their ‘toolkit’ to make their writing engaging and interesting. These tools included adjectives, connectives, conjunctions and onomatopoeia. The Year 1 and 2 students loved writing a special ‘Super Dad’ story that they presented at the Father’s Day Assembly. We have now begun to focus on report writing. The students selected an image of a monster/creature which they needed to write a fact card on. It included details such as the monster/creatures name, habitat, appearance and behaviour.
