Matthews specialises in 3D design and works in the manufacturing department at RMIT. Matthew is at the cutting edge of his field designing body parts that have been used in actual human operations including the successful implant of a printed vertebrae. Matthew spoke of different types of 3D printers and the different materials they use, benefits of using 3D printing technologies over traditional solutions. He spoke about the in-roads this technology is making in the manufacturing, health and aviation industries and gave his opinion on where he sees the technologies going in the future.
