Latest from Year 6
It is that one day in the year that we all look forward to – Grandparents and Special Friends Day. The girls were so excited to be tour guides, gate monitors and the new program was very well received by all. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive so that always makes us smile!
We started with ‘A day in the life…’ This was everyone’s chance to show how smart they are at knowing their countries and cities. The exercise was far more than this – we are exploring the concepts of globalisation and global interconnectedness and by tracing the journey around the globe, the girls increased their global awareness and knowledge. Thank you Ms Faith for finding such inspiring learning engagements!
We then moved into our mathematical inquiry into positive and negative numbers. It was our aim to give our guests a taste of how we learn about the concepts of form, function and connection in Mathematics in Year 6. Gone are the days of the worksheet and textbook – this was real-life learning in action. Some guests even joined in the ‘hopscotch positive and negative integer game.
We hope that all our visitors loved this precious time just as much as we all did!
Please ensure you regularly check Firefly for updates and details of your child’s learning journey.
